Under State law, Possession of 14 grams or more of methamphetamine is considered trafficking. People convicted of this crime face a mandatory minimum prison sentence of three years and a maximum of thirty years. Possession of 28 grams or more carries a minimum sentence of seven years and 200 grams or more carries a minimum 15 year sentence.
Under Federal Law, just 50 grams of methamphetamine is punishable by a minimum of ten years in prison and a maximum of life in prison. Just 5 grams of methamphetamine carries a minimum sentence of five years in Federal Prison.
